This is a 4-part online storytelling workshop series facilitated by Sabrina Burress, with the Augusta Resources for Resilience, Opportunity, and Wellness- ARROW Project.
Why do we tell our stories? To connect, to process and/or heal, to learn, or even to teach and inspire. More than ever, our community needs to hear our voices. Craft your own story by registering for our online storytelling workshop series.

Our Queer Voices: loud, proud, and onstage
June 29, 2021 at 7PM
An evening of stories with community storytellers and Q&A discussion.
Join us for our Pride Month event, “Queer Voices: loud, proud, and onstage”! It will be an evening of stories where community members will share a story from their lived experience. The program will conclude with a Q&A discussion about the journey to finding our stories, the power of sharing them, and the powerful themes that connect us all during Pride month. It will be joyful and celebratory! We welcome you to join in on the dialogue as well.
This event is presented by a partnership between Staunton Pride and ShenanArts and highlights our collective missions in building community through shared experiences. We are grateful for the financial support of the Better Together grant from the Staunton Downtown Development Association.
Some stories may contain mature themes, so this event is recommended for mature audiences.
For more info and to get tickets: go to our show info at ShenanArts.
Staunton Pride will be hosting a group camping and outdoors activity weekend on June 5-7th, at Sherando Lake Recreation Area. Folks can join for the day for some outdoor activities, or choose to camp one or two nights -- all in a safe, inclusive, and affirming environment.

Telling our stories: Nathaniel Preston (EV Trans Advocacy Speakers Bureau): March 11th
We'll be hosting Nathaniel Preston, a speaker from the Equality VA Trans Advocacy Speakers Bureau. He'll be telling his story and will participate in a Q&A discussion facilitated by Cole Troxell (Staunton Pride). Our hope is to build understanding of the experiences that the trans and nonbinary community face here in the Valley, and to foster open and candid dialogue about their experiences.
Event will be livestreamed on the Staunton Pride Facebook page. Zoom link is also available.
Virtual Speed-Friending and Social Hour with Staunton Pride: Feb. 25th
Come hang out (virtually) with Staunton Pride! We're hosting a speed-friending social hour. You'll be meeting others in our community through quick groupings in breakout rooms to chat. We'll keep mixing folks around for several rounds of conversation! Our hope is to spark connection and community.
At the end, we'll come back together for an open group chat, and we'll discuss where things are with Staunton Pride 2021. Hope to see y'all there!
