When we envisioned this event back in 2021, we wanted to create a space for queer folks to connect with the outdoors and with community. So often, we cannot navigate the outdoors and public spaces safely, but there is so much power in doing it together in an affirming environment. Sherando Lake Recreation Area's Family Campground provides an ideal camping destination. It is situated in the Blue Ridge Mountains and visitors can enjoy hiking, picnicking in the shade, fishing in the lakes, or swimming and relaxing on the sandy beach. Sherando Lake Recreation Area

Staunton Pride will be hosting a group camping and outdoors activity weekend on June 26-28th. Folks can choose to camp one or two nights -- all in a safe, inclusive, and affirming environment. Camping begins on Friday, June 26th, 4pm and goes until Sunday, June 28th at 11am.
